The Wal-Mart Cat
A BLONDE was weed-eating her yard and accidentally cut off the tail of her cat which was hiding in the grass.
She rushed her cat, along with the tail over to WAL-MART!
Why WAL-MART???
HELLOOOOOOOOO! ?
WALMART is the largest RETAILER in the world!!!
This story is about a friend of mine. I also own Great Danes. Once in awhile we have puppies. I met Diane when she came to my home and bought a puppy. She named her Great Dane Nickie. In the story below Nickie is the mother to the pup. It's a wonderful story. I'm so glad to know Diane she is wonderful person. You can also look for this story on ZOOTUBE.
In last Tuesday's Sun-Times, Diane Gilbert offered to donate one of her Great Dane puppies, valued at $1,000 each, to a child with a chronic illness.
The part-time dog breeder received hundreds of e-mails in response.
But one from 13-year-old Kayla Guerrero of Romeoville stood out.
"I knew from the moment I read it that I found the right person for this puppy," Gilbert said.
On Sunday, Gilbert introduced Kayla to her new pet, a female she named Peyton.
It's the first dog the Guerrero family has had since Maximus, also a Great Dane, died when he was 2 years old.
"I felt like we were meant to have this dog," Kayla said. "She's the spirit of Max."
Kayla was born with a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot. She's had 29 heart surgeries, including an open-heart operation in June, and she'll probably need more as she grows, her mother said.
"My heart may not be perfect, but I know that it has a ton of love to give to a puppy," Kayla wrote in her e-mail to Gilbert. "I also know that I can't do the sports my sister and brother can, but if I had one of your puppies to take with me to all of their activities, I would feel like I had my own friend with me all the time!"
Gilbert, of Beecher, also gave Kayla's family $100 worth of Fannie May candies.
But she said it feels more like she "gave them a million dollars."
The night Gilbert called Kayla to tell her about the dog, "She literally sobbed and said she prayed all day for me to call her," Gilbert said.
"And I knew again that I made the right decision."
